How to Ace the B2 BEC Vantage Reading Test
The B2 Vantage Reading Test is a challenging exam, but don't worry! We're here to help. In this blog post, we'll give you our top tips for how to succeed on the test.
1. Underline key words/phrases
To help you identify the correct answers, underline vocabulary or sections of the text while reading.
2. Don’t get stuck on a question you think is difficult.
Move on to the next question and come back and look at it again when you have completed all the questions you can, and if you have time left at the end.
3. Don’t leave any questions not answered
Even if you just guess, you have a chance of getting the answer correct! That’s better than leaving a blank space on the answer sheet.
4. Write only one answer on the answer sheet
Don’t write two alternative answers on the answer sheet if you are not sure about your first choice. They will both be marked wrong, even if one of them is the correct answer.
5. Make notes
You can make notes, and initially write your answers, on the question paper but remember that you must transfer all your answers to the official answer sheet before the end of the test.
6. Process of Elimination
If you are unsure, use a process of elimination when you're trying to decide between answer choices.
7. Practice, practice, practice!
The more familiar you are with the format of the test, the better your chances of doing well on test day.
