Business Writing Sample Answer - Writing:

To: Bob Johnson (Managing Director)
From: Jenny Johannsen (Marketing Manager)
Subject: Company Website

Dear Bob,

I have received several comments recently from clients regarding our company’s official website. Unfortunately, the majority of them were less than positive about their navigation experience on the site.

Over the last few days I have personally spent some time on the site, looking at it from the point of view of a visitor with no inside knowledge of our company and services, and in general I have to agree with the sentiment that it is not user friendly.

Observations

Some of the most obvious points I noticed are:

  • several broken links on various pages
  • no online customer contact option
  • poor logic in the principal navigation menu
  • no call to action for potential clients

Having spent some time on the site I feel that we need to update the layout, design, content and increase the engagement factor for visitors. I have also studied some websites by our competition and we are definitely lacking in this area.

Recommendations

I would like to recommend that we contract a digital marketing agency to consult with us on how we can improve our internet presence and optimize our offering for visitors, as well as include elements of ecommerce to stay abreast of our competition at least.

I look forward to hearing your comments.

Best regards,
Jenny
